SUNDAYFor the start of a great week, Boa Viagem Beach awaits for you with its warm water and excellent leisure infrastructure. The Dona Lindu Park is the home of a cultural center including the Luiz Mendonça Theater and the Janete Costa Gallery, it is an inviting place with a nice beach front view. At the Alameda Rebelinho, which crosses the Pina and Boa Viagem neighborhoods, you shall find great food choices, ranging from the French to the Mediterranean cuisine. At the Old Recife neighborhood, the Sunday on the Street Fair is a meeting point at the end of the afternoon at Bom Jesus Street, also the streets are closed for the practice of sports such as skating, playing basketball, riding a bike. On Sundays and holidays, the city offers a Bike Lane from the Dona Lindu Park to the Jaqueira Park, offering nice views of another 16 different tourist attractions.

Dona Lindu Park Jaqueira Park MONDAYVisit the República Square, which consists of three beautiful gardens, a centenary Baobab Tree and also an architectural ensemble formed by the Santa Isabel Theater, the Campo das Princesas Palace and the Justice Palace. Time to go shopping! Start with the Casa da Cultura Craft Center, one of the most popular in Recife, housed in a building that used to be the House of Detention. The bars at Boa Viagem are a great option to end your night.

Santa Isabel Theater Campo das Princesas Palace Casa da Cultura Craft Center TUESDAYAfter having a great breakfast, take a ride through the neighborhoods of Apipucos, Casa Forte and Poço da Panela. There you'll see Recife's history throughout its museums, squares and historical buildings. A good tip is to visit the Magdalena and Gilberto Freyre's House-Museum, which holds the author's famous books, art collection and Portuguese tile panels. Walking through the cobblestone streets of Poço da Panela, visit art workshops and talk to the local artists. In the surroundings, you can find exquisite cuisine, ranging from lobster to the regional baked goat. On the other side of town, the São Pedro Courtyard gathers museums and memorials to Luiz Gonzaga (The King of Baião) and to Chico Science (Mangue Beat creator). Or you could rather go see the Golden Chapel, one of the most beautiful samples of baroque art in Brazil. It is completely gold plated and has many pieces of sacred art.

Magdalena and Gilberto Freyre's House-Museum Golden Chapel WEDNESDAYIt is time for you a visit to the most famous public market in Recife. A building with French iron structure where you´ll find craft, medicinal herbs and corridors full of history at the São José Market. Get your camera ready and register your meeting with famous Brazilian artists immortalized in sculptures displayed throughout the “Poets' Circuit” such as Manuel Bandeira, Capiba, Ascenso Ferreira, Clarice Lispector, among others. To appreciate the sunset in a different way take a ride on a Catamaran Boat, see Recife through the Capibaribe River and see the beautiful bridges during a boat ride.

São José Market Catamaran Boat Ride THURSDAYToday’s scenery full of art and mysticism will surprise you! Francisco Brennand Ceramic Workshop, located in and old sugar mill, houses sculptures, panels, paintings and drawings from renowned artist Francisco Brennand. Take advantage you are there and have lunch at the delicious restaurant inside the artist's workshop. Still in the same neighborhood, you can visit the Ricardo Brennand Institute, a replica of a medieval castle which houses art pieces and one of the most important weapon collections in the world. If you are not tired yet and if is a Thursday, go dancing with to the sound of Carnaval rhythms. The Enéas Freire Palace, headquarters of the Galo da Madrugada parade – the largest in the world – holds Thursdays at the Galo, with Frevo shows that for sure will make you dance.

At the Bom Jesus Street, visit the Embassy of the Giant Puppets of Olinda and the Kahal Zur Israel Synagogue, first one in the Americas, which houses a rich Jewish historical archive. Still in the Old Recife neighborhood, the Malakoff Tower offers a beautiful view of the Arsenal da Marinha Square, meeting point for live music fans. In front of the square, it is worth a visit to the Paço do Frevo, a place where Frevo lovers learn a lot more about this rhythm through research, exhibitions and the teaching of this dance and rhythm. You should also save some time for a visit to the Craft Center of Pernambuco, a place focused on popular art and traditional craft. Right beside it is an innovative experience that takes you inside the hinterlands of the Northeast of Brazil. The Recently opened Cais do Sertão Luiz Gonzaga Museum stimulates visitors interactivity using top of the line technology, considered one of the most modern cultural equipment and of creative economy in the country.

By taking a panoramic flight to enjoy, from another angle, the beaches, rivers and bridges which you have already seen on the ground. Next, stop for lunch at the Boa Vista Market. An unusual coin and old bills collection can be seen at the Moeda Cultural Space, also known as Uncle Scrooge's House.
